Chris Strayer, Festival Producer, explains: “There have been several last minute additions to make the Purple Door experience even better. We’ve expanded the lineup of the Forum Stage, partnered with more vendors and we’ve added a JumboTron screen at the Main Stage. There will also be Laser Tag this year as well.”

Additionally, the first 250 people through the gate on Friday, August 13th will receive a free CD from Gotee Records. And, random attendees throughout the weekend will find stickers in their Festival program indicating that they have won free ice cream from Turkey Hill, chips from Herr’s Chips, a soda from Pepsi or a CD from one of the performing artists.

“We will also be giving away several larger prizes as well, including an Apple iPad, a pair of tickets for a hot air balloon ride, tickets for Purple Door 2011 and Festival apparel,” adds Strayer. “Attendees will find an entry form in their program, which they can fill out and turn in at one of the Festival merch tables.”

There has also been a last minute addition to the lineup. Purple Door is pleased to host Renee Yohe, the inspiration behind the nationally known organization To Write Love On Her Arms, for her first major performance. After years of battling addiction, depression and self-injury, the 23 year old has discovered several artistic avenues to share her inspiring journey toward recovery and redemption. She has touched millions of lives through her motivational speaking and the release of her memoir, “Purpose for the Pain” and now is connecting with people through the medium of music.

“We're excited to be able to give Renee a platform to share her story, a story we feel needs to be told,” says Alshlea Brenneman, the Festival’s assistant producer. “After only doing a few intimate performances, we're excited that Renee will debut her music to the masses at Purple Door.”

Other bands featured in the 2010 line up include: Family Force 5, Thousand Foot Krutch, Demon Hunter, Showbread, Bradley Hathaway, Paper Route and John Mark McMillan, to name a few. A complete schedule for the event can be found online at www.purpledoor.com.
